In un certo senso, è così. In una scala di dimensioni ridotte, la famiglia è un pò come "Dio".
Quello che diventiamo da adulti, tutte le nostre paure, ansie, così come le certezze e la fiducia in sè stessi, ogni singolo aspetto della nostra persona, si forma in famiglia, prima di tutto.
E se la famiglia ti segna, ti ferisce, o ti abbandona, quel dolore diventa un tratto ereditato, come il colore degli occhi o la forma delle mani.
Certo, il tempo e le esperienze ci possono cambiare, possiamo svincolarci, reinventarci, lottare, migliorare.
Ma ci riusciamo davvero? Ci proviamo davvero?
Questo è l'unico aspetto che dipende interamente da noi, e nessun altro.
Ritratti di persone nude di fronte a sè stesse, alle proprie paure, alle proprie lotte interiori. Nude di fronte alla loro fede persa, o ritrovata.
O sospese in quel limbo in cui si è in guerra contro il proprio "io" per riconquistarla, la fede.

Somehow, it's like that. In a smaller scale, our family is like "God".
What we are as adult, all our fears, our anxieties, as well as certainties and self confidence, every single facet that's part of ourselves, it shapes in the family, in the first place.
And if your family marks you, hurts you, or abandon you, that pain becomes an inherited trait, just like the colour of your eyes or the shape of your hands.
Of course, time and experiences can change us, we can release ourselves, reinvent ourselves, fight, improve.
But can we, really? Do we really try?
This is the only thing that's entirely up to us, and no one else.
Portraits of persons who stand naked in front of themselves, their fears, their inner fights. Naked in front of their lost or recovered faith.
Or hanging in that limbo, in which they are at war with their ego to regain that faith.
